HIGH SENSITIVITY OPTICAL SLAVE CONVERTER

The High Sensitivity Optical Slave Converter excels in settings with high ambient light or considerable distances between your remote strobe and the primary flash.

It is particularly good when shooting a DSLR or mirrorless camera at higher frame rates (4 FPS or faster) with Nauticam fiber optic converter.

It functions as a non-learning sensor, necessitating the camera to operate in manual flash mode. Compatibility is not established with a preflash, and the Optical Slave Converter is designed to align with the manual exposure modes configured on the connected DS strobe. Please note that TTL exposure mode is not compatible.

If your primary objective involves triggering a strobe optically with a compact digital camera's flash, we recommend considering alternatives such as the Fiber Optic Converter # 4401.1 or the RC1 Olympus & Panasonic TTL Receiver # 4412.

Attachment and Use

The Converter simply attaches to the strobe's electrical bulkhead in place of a sync cord connector. The enlarged slave window provides approximately 90 degrees field of view for remote triggering.

An optional Extension Cord # 45023 (3 ft / 1 m) or # 45025 (15 ft / 5 m) may be added for more flexible positioning of the sensor window. This set-up is perfect for creative backlighting in wrecks, caves, and pool use. It can also be used above water for studio photography work.

An individual Converter is needed for each strobe. Use of multiple strobes requires one Converter per strobe. The Converter supports DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160 and DS161 strobes.

This product replaces the Optical Slave Converter # 4403.
