This tray is indeed flexible.
It can be collapsed and serve as a very tiny tray, perfect for a Gopro - or it can be completely unfolded and comfortably take a large compact/MIL housing or an iPhone housing.
The carved out slots in the tray has been made with good thought, so it can be used by the differnet housing options on the marked. No matter what housing and how you want to mount it, the slides in the tray & the camera screws will make it fit nicely. You can also remove one of the screws and place the single screw in the middle and add a tripod mount. That is the correct way to mount a Gopro camera.
There is a rubber padding on the tray, that gives an even better grip for the camera housing.
The armball head can be unscrewed and exchanged and there is an option for a camera housing trigger system.
The rubber handles are really comfortable to use, no matter if you use gloves in cold water or without gloves in tropic water.
