The Marelux MacroView 60 (MV-60) is an innovative wet conversion lens designed to transform a traditional 90-105mm full-frame macro lens into a more versatile underwater photography system.
Unlike conventional wet macro lenses that increase magnification, the MacroView 60 reduces the effective focal length to approximately 60-70mm, increasing the field of view from around 24° to 40°.
This makes it easier to photograph larger macro subjects, moving marine life and subjects that are difficult to frame using a traditional 90-105mm macro lens.
Two Perspectives - One Dive
With the MacroView 60 mounted on your macro port, you gain a wider field of view and the ability to photograph subjects at shorter distances.
Remove the conversion lens underwater, and you immediately return to the original perspective and magnification capabilities of your macro lens.
This flexibility allows you to switch between traditional macro photography and a wider macro perspective without changing your camera lens or port.
Ideal for Blackwater Photography
The MacroView 60 is particularly useful for blackwater photography, where small, free-swimming subjects can be challenging to locate and track through a narrow macro lens.
The wider field of view makes it easier to find subjects, follow their movement and compose images.
The shorter camera-to-subject distance can also help reduce the amount of water between your camera and the subject, potentially improving image contrast and colour.
Beyond blackwater diving, the MacroView 60 is an excellent option for fish portraits, crustaceans, nudibranchs and other marine subjects that benefit from a slightly wider perspective.
Optical Performance and Construction
The MacroView 60 features four optical elements arranged in four groups, with anti-reflection coatings designed to maintain image quality underwater.
Its hard-anodized aluminium housing is depth-rated to 100 metres.
The lens features a standard M67 threaded connection for mounting on compatible macro ports and wet-lens holders.
Weighing just 35 grams underwater, it adds very little negative buoyancy to your underwater camera system.
