Nicolai Deutsch, DE Nicolai Deutsch is a professional underwater video and photographer. He has been diving since he was 10 years old, and even as a child interested in photography and says he is grateful to be able to make a living out of his passion. He can dive at -30°C under 2 meters thick ice in the deepest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Baikal in Russia, to discover the underwater world or be on the trail of sharks in tropical temperatures in the Bahamas. Both smell like adventure for him, spectacular shots are guaranteed! Curiosity for the unknown and a job as a cameraman takes him to the most exciting places in the world. He believes being a videographer also makes him a good photographer. Being able to recognize the difference between the two makes him happy to be a videographer. Many believe is harder to be a videographer but not according to Nicolai, it allows him to share more emotions, action and products to his work. According to Nicolai the portfolio is the most relevant piece of who you are in this branch, showing recent projects/ accomplishments are what will show your abilities to gain more network, clients or experience. Even though it can be hard, we always want to do better, and improve our work but it might not always become as satisfactory as we want it to be. This could be different than what the client wants, but that’s oké. Not every piece is a showcase project, and even with short pieces he hopes people will like viewing it for a long time after the original publication. instagram.com/nicolaideutschfilm
